Take a whimsical journey through the magical sky of the Big Island Hawaii.
One of my favorite subjects to paint is a sunset. I’ve seen many beautiful sunsets, either at specific locations or through various photographs, but I haven’t had opportunity to witness the pink skys like this. The reference photo was taken by my friend who lives in Hilo, Hawaii. Hilo in the Big Island has a tropical climate and drops a significant amount of rain each year, but when the rain stops and the clouds have cleared, you will see the very glorious colorful sky, as if you are in a fantasy world. Hawaii is, indeed a fantasy island. Painting what you love to paint is an artist’s dream, and I felt grateful to have this opportunity.
